January 26 is a day to remember when India’s institution came into force in 1950, completing the country’s transition towards becoming an independent republic. The 70th Republic Day was celebrated in all its solemnity and grandeur at Delhi World Public School, Noida Extension. The school echoed with patriotic fervour by conducting various activities and a special assembly on this red-letter day. Where on one hand, the kindergarten and Primary section got engrossed in multifarious activities like Tri-colour flag making, slogan writing, colouring, drawing, poems, songs and thematic dances , on the other hand the Senior wing displayed its patriotic zeal and ardour through unfurling of our national flag followed by a colourful cultural programme.
The programme included dances, dramatization, and quiz, inspiring poems, nukkad-natak and medley of patriotic songs and speeches which indeed enthused everyone with vehemence and verve and complimented the special day. The programme concluded with the Principal’s speech and while applauding the children’s performances exhorted the students to feel responsible as children of the nation, asking them to uphold the values of true spirit of freedom and preserve national heritage and culture and feel proud of being Indian always. The students dispersed carrying the feelings of patriotism firmly rooted deep in their hearts!
