An air of jubilation and exuberance seemed to adorn Delhi World Public School, Noida Extension on the morning of 25th November 2018. Everyone, from the teachers, to the students, to the staff waited with bated breath to welcome the champion and youth icon in the field of cricket-Mr. Yuvraj Singh, the receiver of prestigious Arjuna award and the proud winner of Padma Shri Award in 2014. He has also been accredited with the Most Inspiring Sportsperson of the Year Award in 2014. The programme commenced by invoking blessings from Lord Almighty by lighting the lamp of knowledge followed by rendition of melodious welcome song by the budding singers. Mr. Yuvraj Singh was felicitated by the esteemed members of the Management and the honourable Principal. The other eminent guests- Mr. Aneesh Gautam, Mr. Ajay Ratra, Mr. Chandra Madan, Mr. Ravneet Singh, Mr. Vishal Bhatia and Mr. Vineet Jain who are renowned cricketers and are an integral force of Yuvraj Singh Centre of Excellence also graced the occasion. Mr. Yuvraj Singh along with school Chairman Mr.Vipin Sahni also formally inaugurated the Yuvraj Singh Centre of Excellence, Spacious Swimming pool and the Multi-Purpose Hall specially made for providing global dimension to the students. He also played a friendly match with the students of Cricket Academy and gave them tips to enhance their skills in various sports. In his addressal to the budding sportspersons, he enlightened the students through his motivational words of wisdom which inspired the young learners to take every challenge as the stepping stone to success. He also appreciated and acknowledged the commendable efforts of the Management and the Principal for taking the school to the dazzling heights both in scholastic and co-scholastic areas within short span of time. The best moment was witnessing the smiling faces and loud cheers of the students after having met their ideal in cricket and certainly one of the most treasured days of their life. It was indeed a memorable day for each one present at Delhi World Public School, Noida Extension by the presence of Mr. Yuvraj Singh- a personality who displays grandeur and pure effulgence in every skill of cricket.
