- Education For Sustainability
At DWPS, we are dedicated to nurturing future generations who excel academically and embody global citizenship. The United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) serve as our guiding framework for addressing pressing global issues. Our journey integrates these goals into the fabric of education, empowering our students to advocate passionately for a sustainable world.
Sustainability at DWPS means being more energy efficient and reducing the carbon footprint of the school. This can include waste management, energy conservation, and teaching sustainability.
Our commitment to sustainability is evident through concrete actions:
- From Farm to Table:Students engage in hands-on learning of organic farming in our school garden, fostering a deep appreciation for local food production.
- Harnessing Solar Energy:Through the use of solar panels, students actively contribute to reducing our carbon footprint while setting an example of renewable energy use.
- Minimising Waste:Through comprehensive recycling and daily waste reduction practices, we foster responsible environmental stewardship. Students actively learn about environmental conservation by creatively repurposing materials such as plastic bottles, cans, jars, and newspaper into useful items.
- Planting for the Future:Our students have planted over 10,000 trees in Noida region and continue to aim for regular planting to contribute to a greener environment and a sustainable future.
- Interactive Assemblies:Students engage in dynamic discussions and presentations aimed at cultivating enthusiasm for SDGs and global issues.
- Integrated Curriculum:SDG themes across subjects empower students with critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Experiential Learning:Students participate in hands-on experiences through field trips, Model United Nations (MUN) Conferences, Virtual Exchanges connecting directly with SDG implementation efforts.
Community Connect: Collaborative Partnerships between our students and local organizations on projects such as tree plantations, environmental cleanup campaigns, community gardens, water conservation projects, and urban greening, promoting community engagement and sustainability.
